Thoughts on EA Sports UFC 2's Fighter Ratings

Ahead of it's March 15 release date, EA Canada has finally released the full roster and fighter ratings! After all the gameplay, trailers, and the beta, I seriously can't wait to play the game. Now, there are more than 250 fighters, and they all have ratings. Therefore, I will only cover the highlights. Here's what I thought:

Stand Up Fighters

I really like this list. Keep in mind, this doesn't mean Conor McGregor could knock out Luke Rockhold. It means Conor is a 99 in his division (featherweight), and Luke is a 97 in his division (middleweight). While I would love to see Robbie higher on the list, the top 5 is so solid I can't imagine bringing any of them down.

Clinch Fighters

On the clinch department, Daniel Cormier leads the charge with a whooping 98. After that, you get some of the best wrestlers in MMA right now with Jon Jones, Henry Cejudo, Chad Mendes and Mighty Mouse Johnson. It's a bit weird to see Holm with a 94 on clinch. I guess I haven't seen her clinching enough to draw a conclusion, but it does seem a bit high (I'm glad she's the top rated female fighter though).

Pound For Pound Fighters

This is the big one. And again, EA Canada nailed it. Just look at that top 3: Jon Jones, Demetrious Johnson and Conor McGregor! Following the current MMA Gods, you get a list featuring all the current champions, and a legend in Georges St-Pierre. I'll tell you this: it's weird too see Anderson Silva out of this list. Time flies...

EA Sports UFC 2 launches on March 15 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Preordering the game grants you immediate access to legends Mike Tyson, Bas Rutten, and Kazushi Sakuraba.
