Kalisto Must Regain The U.S. Title at The Royal Rumble

While thinking about this article, I had a sudden realisation that made me smile: WrestleMania 32 is less than 80 days away! I instantly started thinking about my dream card (I'll talk about it soon) when I realised something. WWE wants to break Mania 3's record with one of the worst rosters they could possible have. Cena, Orton, Rollins, Bryan, Cesaro, Kidd, Sting, Nikki, Paige, Sasha, Sin Cara are all injured. However, this article is not really about Mania. It's about WWE needing new stars. Kalisto is one of those potential superstars. And unless they want Kalisto to get lost 'Ryder' style, he must regain the U.S. title at the Royal Rumble PPV.

While I'm glad WWE finally seems to understand that Kalisto needs a push, I honestly don't know why it took them so long. The guy is money! He's an absolute athlete! His speed and agility are out of this world! Plus, his size and personality make him an underdog we all want to cheer. Also, he's decent on the mic. The only reason he wasn't fully getting over was because of the 'Lucha Dragons' gimmick. Now that Kalisto seems to be going solo, the sky's the limit!

On the other side, Kalisto deserves to get a lengthy title run because Del Rio had his chance, and his run was pretty mediocre. He came over, defeated one of the biggest wrestlers in the business (John Cena) and did nothing else. He did his best with the Mexamerica gimmick, but it was so bad they scrapped it after a couple of weeks. After a couple of 'meh' title defenses, it's time for Del Rio's reigns to end. The title needs some new blood if they want to keep the interest and momentum going.

In conclusion, I'm happy WWE wants to push Kalisto. He's a great wrestler that could be the biggest Latin star since Rey Misterio. Nevertheless, if they truly want him to get over, a 5 day (in WWE time) title run is not enough. This could end up as another 50/50 feud in which both guys trade wins and nobody goes anywhere. It's Kalisto's time! And if WWE pulls the trigger at the Rumble, it could be the beginning of something big.
